Evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) also has a value in natural medicine. Evening primrose oil is available on the market as a food supplement. In addition, the oil is a frequently used active ingredient in cosmetic products.

Evening primrose oil produced from the seeds contains the important fatty acids linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid, which are said to have a positive influence on the immune system
